Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
WeedDash is a cannabis marketplace facilitator operating in Kansas City, Missouri. We connect consumers with Missouri DCR-licensed dispensaries. WeedDash is not a cannabis retailer and does not sell or handle cannabis products directly.
This Privacy Policy describes how WeedDash collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our platform at weeddash.shop.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically via your browser.
| Category | Data Collected | When |
|---|---|---|
| Order Information | Name, email address, phone number, delivery address (if applicable), order contents | When you place an order at checkout |
| Age Verification | Age gate confirmation result (pass/fail), stored in browser localStorage — no birthdate is recorded server-side | When you pass the age verification gate |
| Cart Data | Product IDs and quantities saved in browser localStorage | When you add items to cart |
| Usage Data | Pages visited, product categories browsed — not linked to a personal identifier | Automatically during site visits |
| Partner Applications | Dispensary name, contact name, email, phone, license number, and application details | When a dispensary submits a partner application |
We do not collect payment information. Payments are made in cash directly to the dispensary at pickup or delivery — no payment card data is processed or stored by WeedDash.
3. How We Use Your Information
Information collected is used exclusively to operate the WeedDash marketplace:
- Order fulfillment — Your name, contact info, and order details are transmitted to the dispensary so they can prepare and fulfill your order.
- Order communications — We send transactional emails to your provided email address with order status updates (confirmed, preparing, ready for pickup, completed).
- Platform operation — Usage data helps us understand how the platform is used and improve the experience.
- Age verification compliance — We record that the age gate was passed so we don't re-prompt returning users on the same device.
- Partner onboarding — Dispensary application data is used to evaluate and set up new dispensary partners.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is described above.
4. How We Share Your Information
WeedDash does not sell your personal information to any third party.
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With the fulfilling dispensary — Your order details (name, contact info, items ordered) are shared with the specific dispensary fulfilling your order. This is necessary for order completion. The dispensary's use of your information is subject to their own privacy practices.
- Legal compliance — We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to comply with regulatory requests from the Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation or other government authorities.
- Business transfers — If WeedDash is acquired or merged, your information may transfer as part of the business. We will notify you via email or platform notice if this occurs.
- With your consent — For any other sharing not described here, we will ask for your explicit consent first.
5. localStorage Usage
WeedDash uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to store:
- Age gate status — Whether you have passed the 21+ age verification on this device, so you are not re-prompted on return visits.
- Cart contents — Products and quantities you've added to your cart, so your cart persists between sessions.
- Store preferences — Your last selected store or location preferences to improve browsing.
localStorage data is stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except when you place an order. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached data and cookies). Clearing localStorage will remove your age gate confirmation and cart contents.
WeedDash does not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for the following periods:
- Order records — Retained for a minimum of 3 years to comply with Missouri cannabis record-keeping requirements and for customer service purposes.
- Email communications — Order status emails are retained for 12 months.
- Partner application data — Retained for the duration of the business relationship plus 3 years.
- Usage data — Anonymized usage logs are retained for up to 12 months.
After the applicable retention period, data is deleted or anonymized.
7. Data Security
WeedDash takes reasonable measures to protect the information we collect, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Secure, access-controlled database storage
- Limited employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
No system is completely secure. While we use commercially reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. If we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights as a Missouri Consumer
Missouri consumers have certain rights regarding their personal information. You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Deletion — Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations (e.g., cannabis order record requirements).
- Opt-out of communications — Unsubscribe from non-transactional email communications at any time. Note: transactional order status emails cannot be disabled while an order is active.
- Know what we share — Request information about what personal data we have shared and with whom.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at weeddash@polsia.app with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days.
We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
9. Children's Privacy
WeedDash is strictly for users aged 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 21. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from someone under 21, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, contact us immediately at weeddash@polsia.app.
10. Links to Third-Party Sites
Our platform may contain links to dispensary websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit. WeedDash is not responsible for the privacy practices of dispensary partners or other third parties.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of WeedDash after changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
